Mike Petruso

“Organizations rise and fall on leadership…I thrive on investing my time, resources, and knowledge to create the perfect place for you to become a healthier, fitter version of yourself.”

Owner and coach, Mike Petruso, prides himself on creating a fitness community and culture where every athlete, regardless of fitness level, is treated fairly. He is extremely passionate about helping you reach your goals, surpass them, and literally become the best version of yourself possible. Mike has been involved with strength training and fitness since 2001 and began CrossFitting in 2013. He is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and has a CrossFit Weightlifting Certification and a CrossFit Gymnastics Certification. Mike is currently pursuing his Level 2 training status and always working on more to fulfill his hunger for knowledge.

During a CrossFit workout, you are constantly working your muscles (and brain) in new ways to give you a better physique while keeping your mind and body from simply going through the motions. CrossFit Wildwood has seven classes a day that are all a little different and fun – they’re fast-paced and motivational, leading to dramatic fitness gains. You’ll see noticeable changes quickly while eliminating hours spent at the gym! Whether you take one of Mike’s classes or choose one-on-one coaching, he will bring out the best in you if you are willing to show up, listen and take action.

Fun Facts

  • Interesting Fact – played college football at CMU where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015 for his athletic performance on the field

Coaching & CrossFit

Mike is also a personal CrossFit coach; he enjoys one-on-one training and watching your life change before his eyes. He is there for you no matter what you need and is extremely experienced at programming workouts for ALL fitness levels, so don’t let CrossFit intimidate you; it can be done by anyone willing to try. If you’d rather try personal training over a class setting, please feel free to contact Mike to schedule a meeting.

“CrossFit Wildwood and its owners are dedicated to embodying the spirit of fun and hard work; bodies are strengthened, minds are enriched, attitudes are changed, new normals are created, friends are made, new passions are formed and you will surprise yourself!”

Mike proves that age has no boundaries! At 58, he is not only in peak physical shape, but he inspires all CrossFit Wildwood clients to reach new levels. He believes no matter what age or condition you’re in physically or mentally, you can reshape your body and challenge your mind to be strong and healthy for life! CrossFit is a perfect workout to strengthen the muscles, tendons and ligaments that you use for everyday tasks which helps avoid injury and improve balance and motor function.

Mike has been involved with CrossFit for over four years and is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. As a semi-retired AARP card-carrying member, Mike enjoys coaching and spending numerous hours at CFWW (a.k.a. the BOX). He is married and has three amazing daughters, two are of whom are avid CrossFitters at CrossFit Wildwood.

His CrossFit goal is to compete in the CrossFit Games at the age of 60 (super intense competition between athletes from around the world. Must make it through 2 previous levels, The Open and The Regionals, in order to qualify for the Games).
